Dr. Carter is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Gerontology at Wright State University. His research interests include the health and wellness of the LGBTQ community as they age, and particularly managing their intimate/sexual needs in settings of care.

Participants in this session will learn what sexuality counseling is, why it is an important and needed aspect of many social/health services interactions, and how to implement it in their practice.
1. Participants will learn what distinguishes sexuality counseling from sex therapy.
2. Participants will learn how to incorporate sexuality counseling into their practice.
3. Participants will be able to advocate for increased sexuality training and competency in their settings of care.
