The Equitas Health Institute for LGBTQ Health Equity is excited to present the 2018 Transforming Care: Conference on LGBTQ Health Equity and HIV/AIDS. The event will take place October 18-19, 2018.
We have chosen the theme Fighting for our Lives to pay homage to the work of advocates in the past and to highlight the urgent need to stand up, speak up, and fight for our fundamental rights through advocacy, activism, providing and obtaining comprehensive health care for our community, and standing in solidarity with all marginalized communities. Last year, more than 520 passionate individuals representing 18 states and 5 countries came together with the goal of addressing health disparities affecting the LGBTQ and HIV/ AIDS community. It was a tremendous two-day experience for the activists, academics, community members, and health and social service professionals who participated. These participants attended over 60 sessions focused on best practices and research addressing LGBTQ and HIV health across the lifespan.
This conference is possible in large part thanks to the support of partnerships with hospital systems, non-profit organizations, corporate funders, academic institutions, health and social service providers and community based organizations. Information on sponsorship levels and the recognition and benefits of each level is enclosed.
